Sulfuric acid, as a key chemical industry raw material, is widely used in the manufacturing of batteries, fertilizer production and electronics industry and other fields. In the production process of sulfuric acid, precise control of its concentration is a core element to ensure product quality, improve production efficiency and ensure the safe operation of equipment. This paper aims to discuss one of the most important process parameters in sulfuric acid production. — Sulfuric acid concentration.

In the production process of sulfuric acid, whether it is using pyrite or sulfur as raw materials, the sulfuric acid concentration of a number of key links needs to be monitored, including the concentration of dry acid, first absorption acid, second absorption acid, finished acid, and the concentration of high temperature sulfuric acid at the diluter outlet, heater outlet and preheater outlet of the waste heat recovery stage. These concentration values are usually monitored in real time through on-line detection systems. Nevertheless, analysts are required to regularly take samples from various monitoring sites for detailed analysis by titration, a process that is time-consuming and susceptible to the operator's skill level, and therefore requires a high level of expertise on the part of the analyst.

Since on-line analysis of sulfuric acid concentration may not work properly under certain conditions, sampling analysis is necessary. Traditionally, the sulfuric acid concentration analysis process is time-consuming and requires a high level of analytical skill on the part of the operator, which greatly limits the timeliness and accuracy of sulfuric acid concentration measurements in the sulfuric acid industry during emergencies, start-up processes, and problem diagnosis.

1, portable and easy to operate

The device uses conductivity measurement technology to accurately analyze sulfuric acid concentration. Simply place the Teflon measuring container with sulfuric acid in the measuring area, connect it to the aviation plug at the top, and get a sulfuric acid concentration reading in 10 to 30 seconds. After use, pour the sulfuric acid and clean the container without complicated steps.

2, wide measurement range

The portable acid concentration analyzer has a resolution of up to 0.01% and an accuracy of 0.05%, covering a measurement range of 96% to 100% or 0% to 5% (see Table 1 for details). It is important to note that ambient humidity may affect its performance, as concentrated sulfuric acid may increase measurement error by absorbing water after sampling.
